Warsaw Modlin: MiG-21 pilots encounter white discs
In 1968 or 1969, a Polish MiG-21 pilot and his wingman observed two white discs pacing their aircraft near Warsaw Modlin Airport. During the approach, communications failed before four more objects appeared and sped away.
Background
Incident
At 21:00, a Polish air force pilot took off from Warsaw Modlin airport in Poland in a MiG-21 on a short training mission. Shortly afterwards he and his wingman spotted two identical white discs, about 1.8 to 3 metres across, flying at the same altitude and speed.
Encounter
The pilot closed to 15 metres. Over the following five minutes, radio contact with the control station broke off and communication between the pilots deteriorated. Four further unidentified objects then followed the aircraft for 5 to 10 kilometres, accelerated, overtook them ahead, and disappeared.
Witnesses and Evidence
Two air force pilots as primary observers. The case counts as a military UAP encounter with a visual sighting and communications interference. Source: Eberhart's UFO timeline (p. 663, Poland 65).
