NAS Patuxent River: Pais files UFO-like craft patent
On April 28, 2016, Salvatore Pais at NAS Patuxent River filed a patent for a craft reducing inertial mass, described as hybrid aerospace-undersea vehicle capable of altering reality's fabric. Supported due to alleged Chinese advances, it was granted in 2018 to the US Navy.
Background
Background
The Romanian-American engineer Salvatore Pais, stationed at NAS Patuxent River in Maryland, filed a patent application on April 28, 2016 for a craft using an inertial mass reduction device. The concept envisages a fast hybrid air and underwater vehicle said to act on the fundamental structure of reality.
Key Details and Support
The application was endorsed by the chief technology officer of the Naval Aviation Enterprise, on the grounds that the Chinese military was said to be developing similar technology. Patent US10144532B2 was granted on December 4, 2018, assigned to the US Navy, and runs to 2036. Since 2015 Pais has filed further applications for plasma-based fusion devices, electromagnetic field generators, and gravitational wave generators.
Significance and Speculation
No working prototypes emerged, but the patents attracted attention because of the possibility that they served as disinformation aimed at strategic rivals. NAS Patuxent River has been linked with UFO materials since the 1950s. Tests between 2016 and 2019 failed to demonstrate the "Pais effect".
