Background

Discovery

On June 3, 2023, Frank Kimbler, a geologist and lecturer in earth science, and Chuck Zukowski, a UFO researcher, searched the debris field of the 1947 Roswell crash near Corona, New Mexico with a metal detector. They found several small metal fragments a few centimetres below the surface. Accompanied by a film crew, they encountered technical trouble with cameras and measured elevated EMF readings.

Analysis

One fragment was sent to Colorado Metallurgical Services in Denver. The manager, Jason Schmidt, used an X-ray spectrometer for non-destructive examination. The result: primarily a 6000-series aluminium alloy, not listed in the registers, with traces of silicon, magnesium, manganese, iron, copper, zinc, chromium, nickel, and cobalt. All the edges showed signs of extreme explosion and damage.

Significance

These finds are presented as physical evidence bearing on the Roswell incident and invite further testing. The researchers remain cautious about the origin, since additional analysis is needed. Reports on UFOnut and in local media document the discovery.
